Dear Pacer Family, This was shocking news to us all. Todd was a good friend of the family, he took care of us during some of our most difficult times, and he was a person we were just always glad to see. He had depth, perspective, and an easy, vibrant, smiling manner that made him always welcomed. His loss in an injury to so many people. You are in our thoughts and prayers. I am shocked and saddened by the loss of my good friend Todd and want to express my most sincere condolences to Todd's family and friends. I met Todd about 10 years ago when he reached out to me to become a supplier for one of his new business endeavors. Being the sharp business man Todd was, he quickly became successful in his new endeavor, but even more importantly, Todd became a very good friend. Over the years, I have visited Todd and his partners 3-4 times a year and even though Todd eventually turned the day to day operations over to his partners, he made a point to join us for Wings, Wecks, and cocktails EVERY SINGLE time I was in town. He was a truly successful business man and an incredible person. Todd was extremely humble, despite having the world at his fingertips. Through Todd, I met many of his close friends during my visits to Buffalo, and I am proud to call many of his friends my friends now. Todd always asked me to bring fresh baked Hampton Inn cookies to him when we met for dinner and drinks. One of his closest friends, Chip, brought this up to me after sharing the news of his passing and said that from now on when I come to Buffalo, we'll have to eat cookies in the parking lot of Glen Park Tavern and feed Todd's cookies to the birds in his memory. I already miss Todd and can't imagine what my next trip to Buffalo will be like without seeing him. Rest in Peace Todd; you'll be dearly missed by everyone you touched in your life.

To the entire Pacer family, please accept our most heartfelt sympathy and condolences for your loss. I feel truly blessed to have had so many amazing years of friendship and experiences with Todd. From sharing Bills and Sabres games, golf league partners for the last 22 years and great nights out looking for trouble. There were to many great times to choose a favorite. I can honestly say that this is the first and only time I am saddened when thinking of my close friend. Every single memory was always about fun, laughter and adventure. On a side note, I’m reminded of something my mother said to me many years ago, that as a kid you would typically discount. She said if you go through your entire life and have just one or two very close friends who you trust, rely on and are there for you through it all, then you are truly blessed. I now understand and agree with my mother. My great friend Todd is on that list.

To the whole Pacer clan, my heart goes out to you. Todd was so full of life, and touched so many people, that he leaves behind a big hole in our hearts. But he also leaves behind a lifetime of sweet, beautiful memories. I met him 51 years ago when I was 2 and he was 3. There has never been a moment since then when I haven’t thought of him as my closest friend. Even when I moved away from Buffalo, whenever we’d see each other or talk on the phone, it felt like no time had passed. He drove with me from Buffalo to California when I moved out there in the late 80s. There were moments when we wanted to kill each other. It was a two door car with no air conditioning, crammed to the roof with my crap. The saddest moment of the trip was when he said goodbye and he flew home because I had never had so much fun in my life. As the years rolled on, we’d talk more on the phone than anything else. We’d talk about the Bills’ never-ending search for a franchise QB. We’d talk about the fact that he should get married and have some kids since I always knew he’d be a great dad. We’d talk about how he wanted to move to Florida. If I asked his advice on some problem with a relationship or some work trouble, he would always respond the same way: “Wildman!” And then he’d tell me how I was overthinking stuff. And he was always right. Todd was funny like that because he could be so wise. When we did see each other in person, he’d always do the same thing. We’d hug. He’d wrap his arm around my shoulder and look me in the eye and say, “I love you, buddy.” When I see him next, in the next life, I know the first thing I’m going to do. I’m going to hug him, put my arm around his shoulder and, before he can say anything, tell him: “I love you, buddy.” Goodbye, my friend.

Paul and the entire Pacer family, I offer you my deepest sympathy and prayers at the too sudden passing of your brother Todd. He was a quiet, gentle man. Very efficient at running a funeral. I'll always remember his occasional smile when he would stop to tell me about his announcement he needed to make at the end of mass. Heaven has another angel entering today. RIP Todd.
