I met my good friend, Kenny Jeffords, during the 1979 campaign for Cheektowaga Town Supervisor. Little did I know that he would become one of my valued political mentors. Ken was an extraordinary American citizen. He loved his country, cherished his right to vote and robustly participated in the political process. As long as I have known him, he never (for even one moment)abandoned his lofty ideals. This should not be taken lightly since many political participants are quick to sacrifice their ideals in exchange for petty self-interest. Not Ken Jeffords. Despite how seriously he took his role as citizen, he was quick with his infectious laugh and sense of humor. A dependable friend, he was the person you would want next to you in a foxhole. His sterling citizenship and unassailable character are some of the virtues that make America exceptional. God knows that our country, now more than ever, needs more people like Ken Jeffords. America will miss you Ken, as will I. Dennis Ciotuszynski
